Project Slow Crochet Christmas Jumper

Hi happy crocheters! Forgive me… I know that I probably seem crazy talking about Christmas in March, but please bear with me.

Close your eyes for a moment and imagine with me. Picture yourself wearing your favourite Christmas jumper. Can you feel the soft wool against your skin? Can you see the vibrant colours and intricate patterns that make it so special?

When you wear your favourite Christmas jumper, it's not just a piece of clothing - it's a feeling. You feel warm and cosy, and filled with festive cheer. You are outwardly more confident, knowing that your jumper is a unique expression of your personality. When others see you wearing your Christmas jumper, they can't help but smile and feel the joy of the festive season.

This is why I want to finally crochet myself a Christmas jumper 😀.

Now if you’re anything like me you spend the run up to Christmas crocheting like crazy to have all of your planned gifts finished in time… and it’s always somewhat stressful. So, this year I’d like to break that tradition (at least for this one item lol) and take my time to crochet the perfect Christmas jumper.

Essentially, I plan for this to be a SLOW crochet project. I want to take the time to enjoy each step, from picking the pattern and yarn, to adding embellishments and achieving the perfect fit (fingers crossed for that part!). The word ‘mindfully’ makes me cringe, but I guess that it what I am planning to do - to crochet a Christmas jumper at my own pace, and savour each step of the journey along the way.

The Plan

  1. Pick out a truly fabulous Christmas jumper pattern

  2. Squish all of the yarn (purely to find the perfect one of course 🤣)

  3. Start crocheting!

  4. Overcome any (likely many 😬) bumps in the road

  5. Revel in the cosiness of my new Christmas jumper!

So, this year, I invite you to create your own special Christmas jumper along with me, and experience the same magic for yourself? #projectslowcrochetchristmasjumper
