Why I Joined The Crochetpreneur Business Academy

For those of you who don’t already know, I started Elimee Designs in September 2021. The name for my crochet pattern business was inspired by my girls - when my youngest (soon to be middle) child was born my eldest could not pronounce her name correctly, and so instead called her Elimee :)

I decided to take the leap and start my own crochet pattern business because I was struggling to find patterns online that matched the designs I was picturing in my head. I felt that I had sufficient knowledge to recreate my imaginings. so decided to give it a go. A year later, after much hard work, I had 7 patterns under my belt, 4 more in testing and had started a video blog (AKA vlog).

Despite all of this however, I felt that I could be doing better than I was - my following and sales were growing very slowly. I had attended numerous free courses on how to make social media work for you, which is essential to letting people know that you exist, but still felt that I was missing something.

Amongst the courses that I had attended were some run by Pamela Grice, founder of the Crochetpreneur Business Academy (CBA). She touted an impressive resume including extensive experience in selling finished crochet products, designing crochet patterns and working as an experienced business coach (amongst numerous other skills). As I had found her free courses so useful I finally decided to ‘put my money where my mouth is’ and sign up for the academy. I felt that, if nothing else, having my own money on the line would motivate me to make my business more successful.

At the time of writing this I have been a VIP member of the CBA for approximately six weeks. In those six weeks I have learnt SO MUCH! I have discovered opportunities that I was missing out on that could help my business grow and succeed, built and started implementing new strategies on social media to reach a wider audience of potential customers, developed new skills that will help me to take my business to the next level, and many other useful things besides.

As a VIP I not only gained lifelong access to the self-study modules within the program, but also to regular live events such as question and answer sessions, masterclasses, group coaching sessions and sip and stich events. I have been welcomed into a supportive community of like-minded invidiuals who are always happy to help when I run into issues. They promote an ethos of ‘together we thrive’ rather than treating each other as competitors.

Whilst I still have much to learn, develop and implement, I feel that joining this small but friendly community of fellow CBAers has massively accelerated my business growth, and empowered me to keep facing down challenges and reaching for success. My social media presence has grown, my sales have increased and I have made many lovely new friends and business contacts.

I highly recommend that you check out the Crochetpreneur program and see whether it could help you on your journey too. Enrollment opens only a few times per year, so I encourage you to join the waiting list if you are a crochet designer or maker who wants to elevate their business (or start one from scratch) and achieve success. The most important question is, can you afford to not give it a go?

Who wouldn’t want to get paid for doing something that they love?

If you have a crochet business and are reading this blog, I wish you every success in your future endeavours!
